The Intern: Where winning is the only option.
‘The Intern’ is a unique competition that tests a variety of skills
which employers are looking for, with the ultimate prize of a paid
summer internship with one of ‘The Times Top 100 Employers’.
Similar to ‘The Apprentice’, candidates will use their creativity,
commercial awareness, marketing, negotiating and other skills to face
demanding challenges. There will be prizes for the winners of each of
the challenges and the overall winning candidate will receive a paid
summer internship with a prestigious company. This competition is open
to all students from any degree background.
Judging the competition is ex- apprentice candidate Jenny Celerie
along with some very special guests judges as well. All students will
come away from the experience having developed a number of
transferable skills, met a variety of graduate employers and possibly
received some brilliant prizes.
The competition will count towards your Sheffield Graduate Award and
all participants will receive Certificates of Participation. The competition is Host by Sheffield’s Enterprise Zone, Sponsored by White Rose Cetle. The team of students running the event are a mixture of SIFE students and Enterprise Zone Interns.

The Competition itself will take place during term time throughout
April and May 2009, culminating in an awards evening for all the
candidates and local businesses on May 8th. The Internship will be for
8 weeks over the summer of 2009.
