Making a Difference Through Social Science: A Review

Part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science

On Wednesday 11th March 2009 over 50 of you attended Making a Difference Through Social Science, an event held as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science.  The event was jointly funded by the University of Sheffield’s Social Enterprise Research and Knowledge Exchange (SERX) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

The event saw speaches from both Margaret Elliott, Founder of Sunderland Care Home Associates and Ammitti CanagaRetna, Senior Policy Manager at the Department of Health Social Enterprise Unit.  Slides from both presentations, and a video of Margaret’s Presentation are available below:

In closing, Professor Peter Marsh, Academic Director of the White Rose CETL Enterprise and SERX said; “There were social enterprises, support organisations, students, researchers and academics, all actively engaged together in thinking about the possibilities for a socially enterprising future – a very stimulating evening.  Thank you to all that attended and participated so actively, and to those who gave their time, energy and support to ensure the event could go ahead.”
